It may be difficult to plan date nights with the going ons of work, busy schedules and chores. However, with a global pandemic at bay and everyone making health & safety a priority by staying home. This may make it difficult to keep the spark alive in relationships now that we are stuck at home all day. Here is a list of fun at-home date ideas that you and your partner can do together.
Make Cocktail(s) for Happy Hour
Is it 5pm yet? Get out the stirrer, the shaker and crushed ice! Who needs the bar when you can make your own crafted cocktails at home. Making cocktails for date night is one of our favorite activities. The boyfriend makes a proper mojito and I’m not too bad at Dark and Stormies. It’s on of our favorite activities because we can be as creative as we like and share one another’s concoction! Try rating each other’s presentation, taste and aroma. If you’re this enthused about cocktails like us, try signing up for an online workshop together to build your skills and an arsenal of cocktail variations.
Pizza & Wine (Hold the reservation)
I don’t mean ordering from Dominos btw. Let’s make this at home date special by creating your own homemade pizza. Set up a number of sauces, toppings and go crazy! I love doing a half and half combination with pesto & veggies on on one side and a gourmet-style on the other. The boyfriend makes a delicious Margherita pizza topped with fresh parmesan and rocket which makes me think twice about having our own pizza delivered.
Spa Night is the Best Night
The most relaxing and peaceful of these date ideas and good for the mind, body & soul. There are so many options and ways to pamper each other but firstly, turn off your phones and disconnect from it all. Put on soothing music, light some candles, cleanse your skin and put on a face mask. Then run a steamy bath with essential oils of your choice and rose petals if you’re feeling extra glamorous. You’ll both feel relaxed, recharged and rejuvenated.
Romantic Indoor Picnic
It could be your living room, balcony or garden – doesn’t matter as long as you have the other to cuddle up with & a comfy blanket of course. Prepare a charcuterie board with delicious meats, cheeses, bread and dried fruits. Grab your favorite wine of choice and voilà you’ve got the perfect romantic date to spend together.
Get Crafty Together
The possibilities are truly endless here. Grab some watercolor or acrylic paints, two canvases and start painting away. How about candles, a tie-dye shirt or a new favorite of ours has been home decor and DIY. You don’t even need to be too experienced. Try to create your own bookshelf, repurpose some old furniture or elevate the style of your living room with a distinct color.
Themed Dinner
Who needs a fancy dinner reservation when you can recreate this experience at home. Perhaps it’s reliving your romantic holiday in Morocco. Together make beautiful appetizers like harissa, tagine & couscous as a main dish and lots of mint tea! You’ll feel as if you’ve been transported back to Marrakech. It’s a great and fun way to rekindle things with your partner and one of the more lavish at-home date night ideas.
Have a Sweet Dessert Date
Got a sweet tooth and looking for the perfect way to end a special meal? Try and make a delectable dessert for two for this at-home date night idea. Sea Salt brownies, Berry Crisps or mini trifles are my absolute favorites & equally hard contenders to choose from.

I live in China where life without VPN is impossible. No Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, Google, etc. So every year I need to invest in a reliable VPN, lol!
